The original idea of this album was to appear to be heart wrenching, drunken, destroyed country love songs, yet secretly be odes to sobriety, Muay Thai, and the life changing events that medication and therapy for a late in life ADHD diagnosis have made. You can make a game out of each song, if you like, by trying to figure out what particular element of my life I’m singing about in each track. Is my ode to getting hurt about cracking my ribs in Muay Thai, my penchant for choosing the perfect partner to spiral downward with, or general self-destruction just to prove a point? Who knows? Here’s a hint…the answer is likely YES!
This album was recorded in my apartment I share with my lovely-ass wife in San Francisco, in hotel rooms and bathrooms in Minneapolis, and was mixed on the kitchen table, in my bed, in airports, and on the bank of the Misissippi River by yours truly.
Some earlier recordings are me playing acoustic guitar and yodelin’ straight into the mic of my computer perched above 16th street, which let the din of my never-resting neighborhood play an occasional key role. Sirens, dogs, motorcycles, and screaming 4am maniacs can be heard as I let them stay when I felt they didn’t distract.
Eventually, I started multitracking. I bought nice mics and plugged in a few screechers and learned how to use the tools at my disposal which I had been taking for granted for well over a decade. I enlisted the help of Chewy Marzolo to add his ultra baritone voice on occasion, Mike Vasquez of Sweatbox Studio and Cherry House Mastering fame for mastering, and got friends Mike Leslie and Chad Porter to create ridiculous artwork for the front and back covers.
There are some things I can’t take credit for, here: I took many liberties and completely recrafted Yoko’s “Hard Times Are Over”, and Paul Simon’s “Obvious Child”. Suit on the Government is from a poem written by Swan, patron saint of the Mission Pigeons.
The vinyl itself is the debut of ATTACK & DECAY! Recordings, who plans to release short runs of singer-songwriter, country-folk stuff. The physical release is a limited release of 100 copies, so sleep on it at your own risk.
As always, thanks for your support. I am incredibly fortunate to be able to make music and have people listen to it. I sincerely appreciate you just listening, if that’s all you want to do.

Hey Scott, I can’t believe how fast I got this. I think I ordered it on Friday morning and it was delivered on Saturday morning. Thank you! I like it quite a bit. I hope you’re doing good and it was good to see last week at the Lilys show.
Take Care,

This album is like cracking a cold 40 of steel reserve after fighting in a parking lot at 3 in the morning. If you could bottle youth it would be hard to get a better brew than this. databender
